Privacy Policy

Last updated April 23, 2007

Weh-Hey! reviews this self-administered Privacy Policy from time to time and may update it at its sole discretion. If you do not consent to this policy, please do not use our website or services.

"Personal information" is personally identifiable and non-public information such as your name, residential address and e-mail address and includes information about services provided, credit information, billing records, and recorded complaints. Publicly available information, such as a public directory listing of your name, residential address, telephone number and electronic address, is not considered personal information.

The minimum amount of Personal information is collected by Weh-Hey! only when you specifically and knowingly choose to provide it us such as when you place an advertisement, with the exception that we may record your IP address in order to combat fraud. We try to ensure that information collected about you is accurate.

The purposes for collection of the information we gather are for the completion and support of the activity for which the data was provided and may be for the monitoring of use of our websites to ensure compliance with our Terms of Use. Non-personal information, such as navigation patterns, may be collected by Weh-Hey! and used for technical, research and analytical purposes.

We do not sell, trade, rent or give your personal information to third parties. However, and after emailing you in advance, we may release personal information when we believe, in good faith, that such release is reasonably necessary to comply with the law, enforce the terms of our user agreement, or protect the rights, property or safety of Weh-Hey!, our users, or others.

We store and process your information on computers located in Canada that are protected by physical as well as software security devices. Security measures, such as locked cabinets, restricted access and the use of passwords have been adopted to protect your personal information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

Each person who registers must have a unique email address and password. Duplicate profiles using the same email address and password are not permitted. We encourage you not to use information such as your social security number, telephone number or date of birth as your password.

You decide the contact information you provide on your listing.  You can use your full name, first name or no name. You can use the full address of your property or just the street name. If you want to minimize junk email and reduce exposure to email scams, you might consider using a temporary email address for placing real estate advertisements.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of our advertisers’ websites.

We do not publish a home buying or selling advertiser's email address on our websites unless you specifically include it for that purpose. Our site is set up so that home wanted or for sale advertisers can still receive email while at the same time keeping their email address completely private. In the event that a home buying or selling advertiser wishes to post negative feedback about a service provider, that service provider will be given the opportunity to post a reply.

We may use a cookie, which is a small text file placed on your hard disk by our website. It contains a unique identification number that identifies your browser, but not you, to our computers each time your computer is used to visit our website. Cookies tell us which pages of our websites are visited and by how many people. You can set your browser to either refuse to accept cookies.

If you have lost or forgotten your password, you may only obtain it by emailing us. We cannot provide your password by any other means.

Processing of the credit card information is protected by a third party secure sockets layer encryption technology company. Once processed, we do not retain any record of your credit card account number information on our computers, but it is recorded by our payment processor. No data transmission over the internet or the storage of information on internet servers can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, even using the best secure encryption technology, so we cannot and do not guarantee or warrant its complete security.

The information we collect which is not specific to credit cards is retained by us for an indeterminate period of time.
